Popcorn Buffet

Last week I received an email that the third edition of the Utterly Engaged e-zine was available online. As I was looking through the latest edition, I came across some great ideas for innovative food buffets. My favorite was a popcorn buffet. What a great idea to have plain popcorn available and each person is then able to add the toppings of their choice. Wouldn't this be a great idea for a Halloween party too!

the b-line

I love reading Amy's blog, the b-line but never realized that she had an etsy shop too. Amy uses polymer clay to handcraft floral and delicate details into earrings, bracelets, necklaces and even magnets. I now have a couple of her items on my etsy wishlist. I'm sure you'll like her items too. Enjoy!

Bella's Wedding Dress

I know I'm a little late in joining the Twilight bandwagon, but nevertheless, I finally did. I recently finished reading the four book series and have to say that it is one of the best series of books I've ever read. I was skeptical when the series first came out and became so popular, I mean, who wants to read about a human falling in love with both a vampire and a werewolf! But once I started reading the books, I couldn't put them down! I'm now completely obsessed with all things Twilight and can't wait for New Moon to open in November.

With that being said, I found this great piece over on In Style's website yesterday where they have asked some of the top designers to sketch what they think Bella's wedding dress from Breaking Dawn would look like. My favorite is Erin Fetherston's, what's yours?

Vera Bradley Frill Collection

Being from Indiana, I am a big fan of Vera Bradley which is based in Fort Wayne, IN. I've loved their line of quilted bags and accessories ever since their inception in 1982 (my birth year). My mom and I have always been big fans and I even received quite a few pieces as my high school graduation present.

Vera Bradley has recently had some gorgeous, vibrant colors in their collection of bags and accessories available (I love the purple punch wallet that I bought a couple of months ago). But my favorite line is their new Frill collection. This collection is geared toward a younger crowd with an emphasis on bags to take and use at school. Here are a couple of pieces and colors from that collection. I can't wait to purchase a So Over It in Blue Rhapsody!

Orla Kiely Lookbook

The new Orla Kiely Lookbook for Autumn/Winter is now up on her website. What a great line for the upcoming season. It's classic but with a bit of 70s influence. I love how Orla Kiely puts great patterns together, and this season her patterns are a bit more subtle. These are two of my favorite outfits. I hope you have a great weekend!

The Benevolent Postcard Society

I'm so excited about a new project that I've recently joined in on. It's called The Benevolent Postcard Society. I can't remember where I first saw this group, probably on one of the blogs I follow, but the idea is that as a member, you will receive a name and address each month of someone in the group. You are then supposed to send that person a postcard on the first of the next month and in return, you'll receive a postcard as well.

It's a project that Lori Langille created when she wanted to do a postcard exchange and art project all in one. Her goal is that after the end of the year, everyone in the society will send her their postcards and she will do an exhibit of every one sent. She is also planning on putting a book together for all of the members and those of us who don't live close enough to Canada (where she lives).

I can't wait to send out my first postcard!

Liz Claiborne Fall 2009

I have always been a big fan of Liz Claiborne. My mom used to shop there when I was younger and I remember going with her to the store and thinking that all of their clothes were just gorgeous and that one day, I would wear their classic outfits too. Recently, Liz Claiborne hired Isacc Mizrahi as their new Creative Director and I am loving what he has produced for the Fall 2009 line.

It's all about plaid! And if you know me, you know I love a great looking tartan. Below are some of my favorites from the new line. You can see the rest here. Enjoy!

Big Tomato Company

I recently found this great UK site via Liberty of London that is called Big Tomato Company. When it was originally founded, Big Tomato Company's goal was to get one of their small squirty tomatoes onto every kitchen table in the United Kingdom. Their goals have changed a bit over the years and they now offer teapots, mugs and plates with funny British expressions on them. Here are a couple of my favorites along with the squirty tomato!

Mad Men

I am sure that by now most of you have either heard or seen AMC's MadMen. In honor of a new season premiering this Sunday, I found this website through a friend, MadMen Yourself. I made myself over yesterday and it was a lot of fun. A good way to waste time today before the weekend begins. Enjoy!

Etsy: Oh, Hello Friend

One of my favorite blogs and etsy shops is oh, hello friend. You'll notice that I've purchased one of oh, hello friend's yellow bird pins before and I was just too tempted that I purchased a couple more items this week.

The oh, hello friend blog held reader appreciation week last week, and it included many amazing deals at the shop, giveaways and discounted items as well. I came away with these earrings and this necklace in silver (it's still available in gold) below. Can't wait for them to arrive!

Hydrangea Love

I've been a fan of Mrs. French's blog and photography for quite a while now. So when I saw her photos of hydrangeas featured earlier this week over at Creature Comforts, I just had to share them with you. Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers and I love the array of colors they come in. Mrs. French does a wonderful job in capturing their beauty. Enjoy!

Vintage Cars - Citroёn

When it comes to vintage cars, one of my favorites in the Citroёn. I love the curvy lines of the car and that it just looks too darn cute! The modern day version of this car is nice, but nothing can beat a classic, vintage Citroёn from the 1960s or 1970s. I even love how Patrick Jane drives a Citroen DS21 in CBS' The Mentalist!
