Today I am loving these prints by illustrator Wayne Pate. I first saw his work over on Design*Sponge with a desktop download he produced for them and then decided to investigate his work more. His pieces are very simple, and his use of vibrant colors draws me into each illustration. His pieces are also whimsical, which always puts me in a good mood. Can you guess which is my favorite?!?

Galison goodies
A couple of weeks ago I entered a contest that Galison/Mudpuppy had via their email list. They have a new design of desk accessories called Songbirds that they are debuting on their site and the contest was to name the tune that is incorporated into the new design. I emailed back my answer, not thinking anything about it and got an email a couple of days later saying that I was one of their winners!
I received a package from them this past week with the new Songbirds products and I have to say that they are very cute and colorful. They have everyday journals, sticky notes, social notes and mini journals available in the line. You should head on over to the Galison/Mudpuppy website as they have some great desk accessories and office supplies that would brighten up any office.

Calm & Busy
It will be a quiet week here on the blog. I am very busy at work this week and will need to focus all of my time there. I am looking forward to a weekend of calm and I think this photo by fine little day is what I will be striving for during the hectic-ness of the week. I hope your week is full of calm or that you are looking forward to a calm weekend like me!

Cupcakes and March Madness
I made these cupcakes last night for a St. Patrick's Day party I am attending this evening. Don't they look scrumptious?
So, what are your plans for the weekend? I am going to see Alice in Wonderland tomorrow with a friend and will also be watching A LOT of basketball. Glad to see my alma mater through the first round and on to the second! Good luck to everyone's teams and I hope your bracket looks better than mine does. Have a great weekend!

Edinburgh Beauty
Have you ever felt your heart yearn to be someplace other than where you currently are? Well that's how I feel about Edinburgh, Scotland. It's my homeland and I know that I probably have very distant cousins that still live there. I even have an ancestor, Alexander Nasmyth, who painted Robert Burns' portrait that still hangs in the National Galleries of Scotland. It's one of those places that I know if I visited, I would never want to leave.
With that in mind, when I came across Lizzy Stewart's images the other day, all I could say was wow! If this is Edinburgh, then I need to get there a lot sooner than I had planned. Lizzy captures it beautifully and shows the romantic side of the city very well. For now I'll just get lost in these images and hope that one day soon I'll get to see these scenes in person. Enjoy!

Cherry Blossom Wedding
I saw this gorgeous wedding this weekend in the new Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. It's a gorgeous wedding with Cherry Blossoms as the theme. I love how they use the different hues of pink throughout. It is a definite show of spring when the cherry blossoms are blooming. Enjoy!

Vintage Treasure: Yellow Shelf
This past weekend while I was out shopping at the flea market with friends, I spotted this cute yellow, metal shelf. The instant I saw it I knew I had to have it to hold my red salt & pepper shaker collection. The previous shelf I had was a boring white shelf and they were stuck on with a sticky putty so that they wouldn't fall off. Here they will be safe and I think that they yellow makes the red pop. Don't they look cute displayed on my new vintage find?

Floral Inspiration
Today's Inspiration from my flickr favorites is all about flowers! And pink ones at that. This past week has finally started to feel as though spring is creeping through and I thought you'd all enjoy these gorgeous shots of floral arrangements. Maybe it will inspire you to go out and purchase some flowers this weekend and make an arrangement for your home to help brighten it up. Enjoy!

Garden Pots
While shopping at the nursery this weekend, I noticed that they had a great selection of large colorful planters. I loved how they had them arranged in rows according to size and color. It made their displays much more interesting and since it was a sunny day, the colors really popped. Are you excited about spring and your spring planting? Do you have any specific plants that you are excited about putting out?

Birthday Package
This past week I received some new Japanese tape that I had ordered and I decided to put it to good use by decorating my friend, Melanie's birthday present. Melanie loves to bake, so I got her a necklace with a Kitchenaid Mixer charm and a muffin tin charm on it. I put it into a small white paper bag that I had and embellished with my new tape and some red twine. Melanie also loves fish, so I added a couple of fish stamps too. Didn't it turn out cute? Have you embellished any presents lately?

Spring Flowers
These are some flowers I purchased last week to remind me that Spring is just around the corner. It is supposed to get into the low 70's today here in Alabama and the sun is shining. I saw some of our first daffodils springing up in the neighborhood over the weekend. I hope these irises and tulips bring some Spring to your neck of the woods. Enjoy!

Blog Inspiration
Since it's Friday, I thought I'd leave you with five blogs that I've recently started reading on a daily basis. Each of these is a great source of inspiration and creativity and I hope that you will explore them more over the weekend. I am off to the nursery tomorrow with some friends with hopes of temperatures in the low 60s! Have a great weekend!

Alice in Wonderland Inspiration
Here are some of my flickr favorites that have inspired me and gotten me excited about the opening of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland this weekend. Are you going to see it? I know I am, especially with Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway starring in it. The special effects look amazing and so do the costumes. "Off with her head!"

House Doctor
I recently came across a furniture and interior design company out of Denmark, House Doctor. One of my blogging class instructors, Leslie of a creative mint showed them to us as a source of inspiration for her. As I was looking through their site, I became enamored by all of the home decor choices they have available.
They have pieces for your kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room; all types of organization tools, crafting tools and furniture. I love that they are all in a variety of colors and textures and all of the options that are available. The products that they have would work well in all decor settings, especially the storage options.
I think I have House Doctor envy! I do wish that they had a supplier here in the States, but maybe it's better that they don't as I'd probably purchase everything in their catalog!

Ireland's Countryside
Isn't this picture of the Irish countryside gorgeous? Makes me wish I were there right now to enjoy St. Patrick's Day in true style. I hope to one day travel to Ireland, along with Scotland and to re-visit England. I'd love to see where my ancestors came from and visit my homeland. Until then, I'll just have to dream about visiting.
