This is for all of my friends being standed by cold, damp ice and snow. Have a cup of hot chocolate to stay warm!
I'm off until Monday and I hope to be back next week with some fun finds from my antiques excursion this weekend. Wish me luck!

Tartan Illustration
Look at this great illustration by Julia Rothman that I found yesterday over at Design*Sponge. How cute is it! Mental Note: find this print to purchase and frame at home.

Paumes Books
I am always on the lookout for great books full of inspiration and when I spotted the variety of books from PAUMES over on the Yvestown blog, I knew that I needed to start collecting them. These books are printed in Japan by a family run business and showcase various parts of Paris, Stockholm & London. They've even done one of San Francisco Kitchens as well.
I love the bright colors and beautiful pictures in the books. Even though they are in Japanese, for me the pictures say it all. You can purchase these books directly from PAUMES or from the Yvestown shop.

BYW Notebook
Part of any class that you take involves notes and notebooks. Lots of copious notes and hand cramps are usually just part of the learning process. You know that going in. So, as part of my participation in the Blogging Your Way e-class, I decided to find the perfect notebook to use to take my many notes along the way. The notebook I decided on was found in the Anthopologie sale and cost me a whopping $3.95. I love the painted flower design on the front and the stitched binding. Perfect for my many lists and notes about blogging.

Photography of Love
In the last year or so I have become a fan of very gorgeous photography. Photography of many different types and of many different things. I recently saw a photograph by Kristi of Beauty in Everything on a post for the Benevolent Postcard Society. As I clicked through to her Flickr account, I was amazed at the gorgeousness that comes across in her pieces. Below are some of my favorites with the theme of love and the heart. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

Tinted Mint Supplies
I recently came across Tinted Mint, an eco-friendly supply store for crafters and DIY-ers. They have some great items to use for making all sorts of paper and wrapping projects and they even have some unique office supplies that would look great at my desk. Hmm, what to purchase...

Cath Kidston's In Print
Since yesterday was a holiday, I spent part of the afternoon looking through some of my design books to get some inspiration. I always seem to need it after the holidays! One of my favorite books to get inspiration from is Cath Kidston's In Print. In this book, Cath gives some great projects and ways to use old and vintage fabrics. I have a slight obsession with anything vintage, especially fabrics, so this book is right up my alley. Here are some of my favorites that she showcases in this book.

Blogging Your Way class
I am so excited that Holly Becker of decor8's Blogging Your Way class starts on Monday! For this winter's class, she has Leslie Shewring of A Creative Mint doing our Friday session. I can't wait to learn lots from both of these very creative women. My hope is that this class will make me a better blogger and your experience as a reader much more enjoyable! Pencils up...

Rose Window Portrait
Over the Christmas holidays as I was catching up on all of my favorite blogs, I came across a post by Nicole of littlebrownpen. Nicole has a great love of all things European and especially one of my favorite cities, Paris. She recently took a couple of trips there and came back with some gorgeous pictures.
For Christmas, Nicole's husband took a picture that they had of the north Rose Window at Notre Dame and made it into a print for her. I was so excited last week when they decided to offer it in her etsy shop. I will be purchasing a copy in black very soon and can't wait to hang it in my living room! They also offer it in brown, light blue and pale yellow.

Accessory Binge
I have to say that I love the after holiday sales. My brother and I always go out on New Year's Day and visit our favorite stores that are having sales. We usually use this day to spend any Christmas money or gift certificates that we received as presents. This year I decided to put my money towards this, so I didn't spend quite as much on our shopping excursion. I did however, find some great necklaces on sale to add to my ever-growing collection. Here are a couple that I purchased.
Pictures by me.

Grey Flowers necklace by Anthropologie (not available on-line)
Leaf necklace by Gap (not available on-line, but Falling Leaves necklace is)

Felt Pillows
I just saw these cute felt pillows over at The Purl Bee today. What a great addition to my couch during these cold winter months. I think I might try my hand at making one of these. I wonder what colors I should use...

Mini Vacation
It will be another week of light posting as I am packing and preparing for a short weekend trip up to Indiana to visit my friend Rhiannon and her family. I am very excited that we got a great rate on airline tickets, so I'm heading with my friend and Rhiannon's cousin Emily, deep into the coldness of the north to visit with friends and see some of my family. Hope you have a great start to the year!
