Team Jacob

Last but not least, is a shoot done by GQ with actor Taylor Lautner, who plays werewolf Jacob in the Twilight series. Even though Taylor is only 17, he has a style that is tasteful and very classy. Even if you are not a teenage girl, these books are a great read and I highly suggest you read them before seeing the movies!

Team Bella

Second in today's series is a photo shoot that was recently done for Harper's Bazaar and is absolutely gorgeous! Here are a few shots of Kristen Stewart who plays human Bella and Robert Pattinson.

Team Edward

In honor of the Twilight Saga: New Moon, which opens tonight at midnight (YAY!), I have decided to feature a couple of photo shoots that have recently been shot with the actors of the Twilight movies. The first is a recent shoot that Vanity Fair did with actor Robert Pattinson, who plays vampire Edward. These pictures are gorgeous and just affirm my fascination for British men. Enjoy!

Mail Time

I know this is a little late, but I wanted to show you the postcard I received for October for the Benevolent Postcard Society. It came all the way from England and I am so excited that this is the second one in a row that has come from across the pond. How cute is that dog!

A Rainy Tuesday

It's such a rainy day here in Birmingham with Hurricane Ida bearing down on the state. It's actually a bit cooler outside that I thought it would be today, so it's definitely making it feel very fall-like outside. Here is another one of my favorites on Flickr by simply hue. A great shot of the current time of year. Hope you all stay dry today, wherever you are!

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday everyone! I've been so busy over the past week that I haven't had much time for posting. Here is a great Flickr find that I just had to share. It's getting ready to start raining here and Hurricane Ida is bearing down on the southern part of the state, so I thought this was appropriate. Have a great (and dry) day!

S'mores Kits

I saw this DIY S'mores Kit over at Twig and Thistle yesterday and thought what a great idea it would be to make these for hostess gifts for the holidays. It makes me want to build a big bonfire and sing camp songs til very late. Hope this fall weather is getting you as excited for turkey as I am! More instructions on the DIY S'mores Kits here.

Halloween Music Mix

NPR has a reputation for putting great holiday music mixes together. This Halloween they have done it again! From Jakob Dylan and the Indigo Girls to Cab Calloway and John Lennon along with a little Gil Shaham thrown in for good measure. This Halloween music mix is sure to get you in the spooky mood for All Hallows' Eve. I hope you all have a ghoulish time tomorrow night!

Mandolinist Extraordinaire

Tonight I am going to see the awesomeness that is Chris Thile. If you've never heard of Thile, he is an extraordinary mandolin player from the group Nickel Creek (which is currently on hiatus) and Punch Brothers. I was fortunate enough to see him for the first time this past spring when he was performing in Birmingham with the Punch Brothers and it was the best live shows I've ever been to. This evening he is playing with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and is debuting his new mandolin concerto, playing some unaccompanied Radiohead and also Bartok's Music for Strings, Percussion and Celeste. Should be a great show!
