Tree Quilt

Last week I saw this cute Tree Quilt over at The Purl Bee. It was created by one of my favorite bloggers of lovelydesign, Sharilyn. Personally, I don't know how to quilt, but wouldn't this be such a cute one to make for the holidays? Maybe this could be my first quilting project, no?

I am in love with the Sunday Suppers blog! Sunday Suppers does class, cooking, dining experiences in Brooklyn, NY and then post about each event on their blog. Look at this amazing Fall Harvest dinner they did in conjunction with another one of my favorite blogs, 100 Layer Cake. How gorgeous is this!?! Here is part one and part two.

Advent Calendar #2

Here is another cute DIY Advent Calendar that I saw in my December issue of Country Living. This calendar is made with match boxes covered in festive papers and has the days of December stamped on the sides. How fun is this!

A Day Off!

Today I am taking the day off to go holiday shopping and decorating with my mom. We are going to enjoy a fun-filled day and get into the holiday spirit. We will be visiting the Birmingham Botanical Gardens' Holiday Greenery Sale and then doing some decorating with our finds. We are also going to do a bit of holiday shopping and will explore to see what we can find. Be back tomorrow!

Today I am Thankful For...

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I thought I would make a list of all of the things I am most thankful for. I hope you are able to spend tomorrow with family and friends and that you get to enjoy a stomach full of delicious food! Have a great Thanksgiving and for those of you brave enough to venture out, Happy Shopping on Friday!

I am thankful for...

1. The blessings that God has given me and his promises to take care of me no matter what.

2. My wonderful, hilarious and crazy family.

3. My supportive, awesome and fabulous friends.

4. My cute and sweet cat, Paddington.

5. Road trips to visit friends in far off places.

6. Sales at Anthropologie, Target and Williams-Sonoma.

7. The love of cooking given to me by my mother and grandmother.

8. Great books that I can't put down when I start reading them; i.e. Harry Potter, Twilight & Jane Austen.

9. The one magazine that is still in print and I LOVE!

10. Leftovers from Thanksgiving so that I can make a sandwich with a 'moist maker' in the middle.

Book Baby Shower

To end out the week, I wanted to show you a few pictures from a Baby Shower that we did for my friend Erica on Monday. Erica is a children's librarian at the local library and we decided it would be fun to have a book shower for her. All of the guests brought their favorite children's book to help fill the new baby Brooklyn's bookshelf. In honor of our theme, I made a cupcake cake using the Very Hungry Caterpillar book by Eric Carle. It was a fun night had by all! Hope you have a great weekend.
